![]() Emergence of eColleges Presenting a Credible Applicant or Organization Your College Connection is a newly formed, non-profit corporation set up for and by the citizens of Region X—located in northwestern Nebraska with a population of 150,000. It covers 5,625 square miles and comprises six adjacent counties. There are 21 constituent members who have agreed to be on Your College Connection’s Board of Directors. Represented in this diverse body are two Superintendents of Schools, a Bank President, two Technology Coordinators (one from the public school sector and one from the private corporate sector), a U.S. Representative, a State Senator, a State Representative, a State University Professor, an Architect, a Social Service Worker, a Licensed Psychologist, a Medical Doctor, a Corporate President, three Business Persons, three Farmers, and an Attorney. These Board members average 10 years in their designated professions. Every Board member is a resident of Region X, and are equally represented by male and female. In addition, every cultural background (white Caucasian, Hispanic, African American, and American Native Indian) residing in this area of the state are also equally represented according to their population ratio (figure provided by the U.S. Census). Each member has committed to serve on the Board for a minimum of two years. The current Board of Directors has been in operation for eight-months. During that time they have been meeting either monthly or bi-monthly. The goal of the Board of Directors is to preserve the industry and population of Region X. Their central proposed plan of action is to provide [cyber] higher education and technical training resources for their citizens, especially Generation X, Generation Y and younger. |
