MONUMENT MEASUREMENT SPOT

This monument marks the spot from which all the land in Arkansas and most of the northern part of the Louisiana Purchase was measured.  Located where Lee, Phillips, and Monroe counties (Arkansas) meet, it is today the Louisiana Purchase Historical Monument (Baker, p. 60).
